Browser Settings: Accept Browser Cookies

Your browser must be set up to accept browser cookies. Learn more about Citigroup OnLine Learning cookies and your privacy.

To accept cookies and turn the notification feature off in the standard browsers:

Netscape Navigator 4.0 and higher (Communicator 4.5 and higher):

1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
2. In the Category list on the left, click Advanced.
3. Check the Accept all Cookies option.
4. Remove the check for Warn Me Before Accepting a Cookie.
5. Click OK to close the dialog box.

Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher:

1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
2. In the dialog box, click the Security tab.
3. Be sure the Internet Web content zone is selected (the globe icon).
4. The default selection, Medium, allows cookies to be stored. You can verify cookie options by clicking Custom Level. In the cookies section, be sure Enabled is checked for Allow Cookies that are Stored on your Computer; and Allow Per-session Cookies (not stored).
5. Click OK to close the dialog box.

Browser Settings: Enable JavaScript (or ActiveX controls)

Citigroup OnLine Learning makes extensive use of JavaScript. (Internet Explorer uses ActiveX to implement JavaScript.) JavaScript is a scripting language developed by Netscape and used by Web designers to design dynamic, interactive Web sites that can display different information to different viewers accessing the same URL.

You must be sure that JavaScript (or ActiveX controls) is enabled in your browser to use Citigroup OnLine Learning . To enable JavaScript (or ActiveX controls) in the standard browsers:

Netscape Navigator 4.0 and higher (Communicator 4.5 and higher):

1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
2. In the Category list on the left, click Advanced.
3. Check the Enable JavaScript option.
4. Click OK to close the dialog box.

Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher:

1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
2. In the dialog box, click the Security tab.
3. Be sure that your Security level is set to Medium. The ActiveX controls that are necessary to use Citigroup OnLine Learning are set by default in the medium security level.
4. Click OK to close the dialog box.

Browser Settings: Refresh Browser Pages

To ensure that you are seeing the latest data on any Citigroup OnLine Learning page, you will need to set your browser to refresh at every page.

To set your browser to refresh at every page visit (in the standard browsers):

Netscape Navigator 4.0 and higher (Communicator 4.5 and higher):

1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
2. In the Category list on the left, double-click Advanced.
3. Select Cache.
4. Under Document in Cache is Compared to Document on Network, select Every Time.
5. Click OK to close the dialog box.

Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher (set the browser to check for newer versions of stored pages automatically in IE5):

1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
2. Under Temporary Internet Files, select Settings.
3. Under Check for newer versions of stored pages, select Automatically.
4. Click OK to close the dialog box.

Connecting through bookmarked pages

It is possible to bookmark different locations within Citigroup OnLine Learning , such as the My Courses page, but we recommend that you use bookmarks only with caution, for these reasons:

1. As Citigroup OnLine Learning grows, changes in servers or other site reorganization bookmarks inside Citigroup OnLine Learning may stop working or take you to outdated pages.
2. Message board URLs are designed to expire. A bookmark into a classroom will not be useful for very long.
3. You are likely to miss important announcements posted on the My Courses page if you bypass that page and enter the classroom directly through a bookmark.
